Wellness Exam

Annual wellness exams are essential to good health and help ensure a long, happy partnership with your equine athlete. These visits allow your veterinarian to become familiar with your horse and to detect subtle health changes. It also provides an opportunity to discuss the latest research and information on important topics like nutrition, shoeing, and exercise. These exams also provide a perfect opportunity to re-evaluate the vaccination and deworming programs that Alta Equine tailors to your horse's life stage, activity level, and overall health.

Dentistry

Proper dental care is a crucial part of keeping your horse healthy and sound. Alta Equine provides annual floating and recommends an oral evaluation every six months to help ensure your horse's greater well-being and optimal performance.

Routine Laboratory Testing

Having baseline values for your horse is another way to keep track of your horse’s health and keep them healthy long term. At Alta Equine, we typically recommend annual testing for complete blood count, chemistry, fibrinogen, and fecal egg count to check for parasite eggs.
