Ultrasonography

Ultrasound technology is a way to view what is going on in real-time within a soft tissue structure. It enables the examiner to assess any inflammation, arthritis, tears, or other abnormalities that may be present. During rehabilitation, ultrasound is a great tool to track the progression of an injury as it heals.

Radiography

Our Fusion digital radiography machine allows us to take detailed digital radiographs in the field and creates quality images from the foot to the neck and spine. Our cloud-based image database enables us to efficiently view and send images to clients, care providers, and other veterinarians.

Foot Balancing

One way to stay on top of your horse’s hoof health is to obtain foot balancing radiographs throughout the year. In a foot-balancing consultation, we assess your horse’s hoof angles and positioning to develop a customized shoeing plan with you and your farrier.

Endoscopy

Alta Equine proudly offers on-farm video endoscopy services. This advanced diagnostic technique allows us to investigate the nasal passages, pharynx, larynx, upper airways, guttural pouches, and stomach (gastroscopy) of our patients. The most common use of our endoscope is diagnosing and monitoring the healing of gastric ulcers.
